We are so proud of the 716 Albany High »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµstudents who either made Principal's List or Honor Roll for the third quarter of the 2024-25 school year! We captured some with their certificates to share with you!
Career Fair 2025
Students, families and community members are invited to join us for at Albany High on Thursday, May 22! Over 70 businesses will be present and this is a wonderful chance to learn about summer job opportunities, internships and more! The Career Fair will be open to Albany High students from 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. and to families and the community from 3:30-5 p.m. Visit our calendar event for additional details.

- Please note there is no Regents testing on Wednesday, June 4. This is a normal school day and students are expected to report to classes.
Spectacular moments in sports
- This week, we celebrated Senior Nights for , , , and ! Our hearts are full of Falcon pride, and we wish our seniors the very best as they close out their final sports season at Albany High!
- Our girls' lacrosse team thrilled Falcon fans with an impressive win against Hudson Falls, 15-3!
- Our boys' 4x100m relay team—Nasief Smith, Daaron Harrell, Samir Gardner and Rohan Edwards-Grant—broke their own school record, finishing with an impressive time of 42.48 at Wednesday's home meet!
- Our girls' flag football team has had an incredible season! Come cheer them on at their quarterfinal playoff game on Friday, May 16 at 4:30 p.m. at Albany High. Tickets are free!
Life-saving opportunities
- On Saturday, May 17, The American Red Cross is hosting an event to install free fire alarms in the South End of Albany from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for more details.
- On Wednesday, May 21, Albany High will host our third and final of the academic year! View our calendar event for details.
Stunning shows
- On Wednesday evening, our Beginning Band, String Orchestra, Vocal Music Ensemble and Symphonic Band put on an incredible spring concert. from the event.
- On Thursday, our fine arts department hosted , showcasing the the skills of our students across a wide variety of artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, textile work, animation, film, electronic media, graphic design and so much more!
Photography equipment drive
With the amazing support of Albany Fund for Education, our photography program is collecting used cameras, lenses, tripods, memory cards and other essential photography gear to support our Falcon photographers. DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and film cameras are all welcome! Working cameras are preferred, but we can also use cameras that don’t work and can be used for parts.
Because storage space is limited, please fill out this to describe the equipment you would like to donate and Albany Fund for Education will get back to you promptly.
We want to give a big shout-out to Albany High senior Lin Nway for assisting with this project and our photography students get to work on!
Online Success Program: raise your quarter 3 grades
- Our Online Success Center Program allows students to raise their grade for previous quarters. This is a fantastic opportunity for our Falcons to earn back credit and enhance their academic achievement! Students must fill out a contract to participate. See Mr. Vacanti in room 1311 for more details.

Please be advised that tickets are non-refundable and can be purchased at the Box Office in the main lobby at Albany High School.

Sweeping in Tulip Festival
On Friday, eight seniors from Albany High School—Georgina Asante, Jazzmine Brown, Annabelle Clemens, Kaddisha Findley, Renee Geraghty, Jaileny Nunez Almonte, Madeline Penna and Zeta Schofield —braved the rain to assist Mayor Kathy Sheehan in ushering in the seventy-seventh annual Tulip Festival. Honoring our valedictorian and salutatorian
The »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµ District of Albany Board of Education at Thursday night’s meeting. Valedictorian Jacob Levine and salutatorian Jamima Saddiqui both will attend the University at Albany next school year. Congratulations to both on their tremendous academic achievements!

Congressional connections
- On Friday, May 2, fifty-five students had the opportunity to meet in the Albany High Library to dialogue with Congressman Paul Tonko about his role in government and experiences as a public servant.
- That same evening, Albany High junior Alex Steuer received an honorable mention at the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for their gorgeous 11x14" acrylic on canvas titled "Lemons."

Creative moments in CTE
Our students in our Career and Technical Education program had some dynamic learning opportunities this week!
- On Tuesday, students in Vincent Kemp's Automotive Technologies I and Automotive Technologies II classes learned about the evolving landscape of the automotive auction industry from guest speaker, Chris Cushing. They also got up-close-and-personal with two different Porsche models! Check out this news story to learn more.
- On Wednesday, students in Martha Bresonis' displayed their creativity in a gallery walk setting, featuring the skin care and beauty products with accompanying brochures they developed for a class assignment.

Scholarships & service hours
- Seniors, please note there are many wonderful scholarship opportunities in the ! For example, there are six Albany Fund for Education scholarships (one is by nomination by an Albany High staff member) and the application deadline is Thursday, May 15! Visit Ms. Quinn in the College and Career Center if you have questions or need assistance!
- If you are looking for a fun and easy serving opportunity to earn hours towards your graduation cords, check out the opportunity to serve at the , happening on Friday evenings in May and June.
